ABNA
2003
Year In Review
Central West End –
In 2003 ABNA continued its involvement in
some of the largest public works projects in the region. ABNA is a part
of the design team for the new runway for Lambert St. Louis
International Airport and was the civil design lead for the new Cypress
Parking Facility (Super Park). Our construction services department
expanded and added a materials testing laboratory to better meet the
needs of our clients.
ABNA is also involved
in several projects associated with the $1 Billion transportation
complex for the New Mississippi River Bridge including Route 3
Relocation in Illinois and the realignment of Interstate 64 in Missouri
and Illinois. Our involvement also includes structural and civil design
on the bridge structure itself, which ABNA began work on in 2001. In
2003, ABNA moved further into GIS (geographic information system) and
completed one of the largest GIS projects in the region for Great Rivers
Greenway (formerly MPRD). ABNA also won two large Metropolitan Sewer
District (MSD) contracts as the prime contractor and will design
improvements for the Fenton Wastewater Treatment Plant and redesign the
Fee Fee Creek Sanitary Relief. |
Our Past
ABNA was founded in
1994 by the husband and wife team of Abe and Nicole Adewale, both of
whom are Civil Engineering graduates of the Georgia Institute of
Technology in Atlanta, GA. After college, both Abe and Nicole joined
the Illinois Department of Transportation where they served 10 and 7
years respectively. While at IDOT, the Adewale’s gained valuable
experience in the design and construction of highways and urban
roadways.
Key project
opportunities presented themselves in 1996 when ABNA was chosen to work
on a centerpiece planning project for several Southern Illinois
Communities, and in 1998, when ABNA won its first project as a prime
consultant for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District.
