      Responsibilities:
      Major responsibilities include design and planning of roads, traffic systems and ITS systems. Prepare civil engineering design plans and construction documents with minimum supervision. Coordinate planning and construction activities

      Education and Experience Requirements:
      Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Computer Science preferred. Experience with CorSim, Synchro and AutoCad. At least one year of experience in traffic signal coordination. Experience in responsibilities as outlined above.

      Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

      Hours and Wages:
      40 hours/week. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.

    • Advertisement for the position of a Civil/Transportation, Environmental, and Structural Engineer
      ABNA Engineering, a Civil Engineering firm, has an immediate need for Civil/Transportation, Environmental, and Structural Engineers for Senior and Entry Level Positions in its Civil Design Department. ABNA provides services in the areas of Land & Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering Design, Construction Management, and Land Surveying throughout the Midwest. Our clients include local municipalities, public utilities, regional planning groups, state & federal agencies, & commercial clients in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

      Candidates for Project Management level positions shall possess at least 5 to 10 years of highway engineering or civil design experience and a Missouri or Illinois P.E. All candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering, a professional engineer's license (or the ability to obtain licensing in either state within 6 months.) All candidates must be U.S. Citizens, permanent residents, or possess a current work VISA.

      5 years of project management experience and strong client communication skills are a plus. Experience with MicroStation, Eagle Point, traffic signal design, and highway capacity software is highly desired. Opportunities also exist for candidates with less experience.

      Project Managers will be responsible for the coordination and design of all Transportation, Civil Site Design, Commercial, and Public Works projects including the collection of necessary field information, client interface, preparation of plans, and all related construction documents. Shall oversee and review all work done by others in the group, which includes PE's, EIT's and CADD Operators. In addition the candidate will participate in some business development and marketing.

      Civil Projects involve utilities, site development, flood control, wastewater systems, and roadways. Our transportation projects involve general roadway/highway design, closed loop signal systems, traffic impact studies, and traffic control plans. Structural projects are generally related to the design of bridges, culverts, and structures for waterway crossings.

  • Land Surveys (Field Personnel)

    • ABNA Engineering, a Civil Engineering firm, has an immediate need for qualified party chiefs. The qualifications and job description for party chief are as follows:

      Qualifications:

      1. Must be a Licensed Land Surveyor in Training or have a minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying.

      Responsibilities:

      1. Collection of field data
      a. Party chiefs will be responsible for the collection of field data, sketches, and any other information needed to accurately depict the existing field conditions.
      b. Party chiefs will be responsible for ensuring that the field data is collected in a timely manner that is consistent with current company standards (i.e. the proper use of field, and line codes etc.), and that the data is complete and accurate.

      2. Construction Staking
      a. Party chiefs must keep accurate and detailed field notes
      b. Party chiefs must ensure that stakes and offsets are properly marked
      c. Party chiefs are responsible for clear and timely communication with the client and supervisor

      3. Supervision of Instrument/Rod Person
      a. Party chiefs will be responsible for ensuring that their instrument/rod person is performing at an acceptable level of precision, and production.
      b. Party chiefs will be responsible for ensuring that their instrument/rod person is working in safe manner and that, appropriate safety precautions are taken to provide a safe work place.
      c. Party chiefs will be responsible for ensuring that their instrument/rod person remains in the prescribed uniform, as set forth in the employee handbook, while on the job site.

      4. Professional development of Instrument/Rod Person
      a. Party chiefs will be responsible for assisting the project manager in training instrument/rod persons in basic and advanced survey methods.

      5. Time sheets for Instrument/Rod Person
      a. Party chiefs will be responsible for filling out time sheets for themselves and their instrument/rod persons and turning them in to the project manger at the end of each workweek.

      6. Maintenance of vehicle and survey equipment
      a. Party chiefs will be responsible for ensuring that their instrument/rod person is taking the proper precautions when using the vehicle and survey equipment, and keeping the equipment in a neat, clean and serviceable condition.

      7. Performance review of Instrument/Rod Person
      a. Party chiefs will be responsible for assisting the project manager in assessing the performance of their instrument/rod persons on a semi and annual basis.
