Ballwin First M.B. Church
Client: Ballwin First M.B. Church
Owner: Ballwin First M.B. Church
Completion Date: Jan 2001
Const. Value: $1,200,000

ABNA was the Civil & Survey consultant for relocation of the church and site development and rezoning for a new daycare center. For this, ABNA prepared a Special use Exemption Application and all required support documentation.

The site design included site layout, selection of pavement type and thickness, storm drainage design, parking stripping, site entrance connection with Ries Road, and Planning and Zoning submission.

Surveying services included a boundary and topographic survey, which resulted in a resubdivision plat..  During construction ABNA will layout the sidewalks, parking lot, sewers, and curb islands and will conduct a final foundation survey.

Kinloch First M.B. Church
Client: M.L. Johnson Company
Owner: Kinloch First M.B. Church
Completed: Oct 2000
Const. Value: $1,100,000

Civil consultant for a 10,000 square feet pre-fabricated metal facility. For this ABNA was responsible for the design of the storm sewer system including detention basins, the sanitary sewer system, proposed utilities, parking striping and layout, site entrance connection with Parker Road, and developing a sediment and erosion control plan.

Locating the 2-acre developed portion of the project on the 14 acre wooded site presented a number of problems with drainage.  MSD required a multi-stage detention basin to handle both 2-year/ 24 hour and 100-year/ 24 hour storm events.  Existing surface runoff generated offsite had to be avoided utilizing deliberate site management, which eventually required relocation of the main building.  To locate the parking area and avoid flooding, a HEC series (hydrology) computer program was used to determine the 100-year water surface elevation.

ABNA’s surveyors conducted a boundary survey and prepared a topographic survey plat that included contours, sewer data, and above-ground evidence of utilities.  ABNA also set two semi-permanent site benchmarks tied to U.S.G.S. datum.

Lindenwood Park
Client: Bucher Willis & Ratliff
Owner: City of St. Louis
Const. Value: $25,000
Est. Completed: October 2000

As a member of one of the Ward Consultant Teams for the City, ABNA designed a new Roller Hockey Rink for Lindenwood Park.  Design work included replacing the existing basketball court with a 6000 square foot roller & roller hockey rink.  The construction phasing had to be structured to keep the park in operation and minimize impact on park visitors.   Also as a part of the design work, ABNA developed the design survey to indicate existing site conditions, determine the extent of existing utilities in the project area and to determine the existing drainage patterns in the area of the project. Deliverables included the final civil site plans, site work construction cost estimate and the civil engineering construction specifications.

MSD CARE Project
MSD Headquarters
Const. Value: $9 Million

Plans were designed to renovate and expand the building facility at MSD’s headquarters. ABNA was responsible for strategizing the most viable plan for the development of the site.  This consisted of redesigning the parking lot to better accommodate the staff and visitors.  Improvements were made to the drainage system, curbs, walkways, lighting, and entrances.
