Design study of Forest Park Blvd. at Kingshighway
Client: BJC Facilities
Owner: City of St. Louis
Completion Date: Apr 2000
The Project objective was to create an access to Kingshighway from Forest
Park Boulevard to allow crossing Kingshighway heading east and conversely
to create access to Forest Park Boulevard West from Kingshighway. This
access will primarily serve the purpose of direct traffic routing to and
from Barnes Jewish Hospital Plaza and the new Waldheim Ambulatory Care
Facility at the intersection of Forest Park Boulevard and Euclid Avenue.
In addition, the structurally deficient bridge over Metrolink tracks just
west of the Kingshighway/Forest park Boulevard will be replaced with a
longer, wider and higher bridge. This redesign is also intended to reduce
the weave problems with thru traffic at Eastbound Forest Park Boulevard
and Euclid, as well as within the BJC campus.
While BJC was the direct client, coordination with the City of St. Louis
and East West Gateway was required.
