North & South Broadway - Wards Project
Client: Zurheide Hermann
Owner: City of St. Louis
Completion Date: Mar 2001
Const. Value: $4,000,000
ABNA conducted route surveys on a 12-mile section of Broadway. This
involves topographic surveys and cross sections every 100 ft. ABNA
also provided engineering design services for a 2-mile section of the
alignment. Design components included improving the vertical profile,
drainage and utility adjustments.
Breckenridge to Baltimore Storm Channel
Client: St. Louis MSD
Owner: St. Louis MSD
Completion Date: Feb 1999
Const. Value: $3,000,000
The objective of this project was to evaluate the hydraulics of the 1200’
channel and size it for a 15-year storm event to alleviate flooding on
Warson Road and nearby
residential and commercial parking. A bridge over the channel at
Breckenridge Road was supported by timber piles and in poor condition due
to scouring. One challenge was to replace the bridge structure without
disturbing the hydraulics of the new storm channel.
Other challenges included minimizing the need for easements and utility
relocations to accommodate improvements, minimizing disruption to
businesses and residential property owners, addressing traffic flow on
Breckenridge Ave. during bridge
reconstruction, and future traffic requirements for the bridge.
Harlem Baden Combined Storm & Sanitary Sewer Phase I
Client: St. Louis MSD
Owner: St. Louis MSD
Completion Date: Jun 2000
Const. Value: $300,000
The objective of this project was to increase the capacity of the combined
sanitary/storm lines within a four-block area around Barrett Brothers
Park. New junction boxes and manholes were designed to connect the new
relief lines to existing lines and provide additional outlets for surface
drainage. All of this is accomplished within a narrow strip of easement
between homes in a mature neighborhood.

Cross County Collaborative
Owner: Bi-State
Est. Completion Date: Sep 2003

ABNA to establish the coordinate position of “second-order” monumentation
markers for the entire 8-mile light rail extension section. Fifteen (15)
1st order monuments were set. Approximately 100 2nd order monuments 500’
apart along the 8-mile alignment. ABNA provided route surveys for the
alignment. Also provided boundary surveys to establish ROW for the
alignment. ABNA prepared ROW plats to document ROW takings. A
monumentation manual was also developed by ABNA.
